Back in November of 2007, my friends Peter, Sei-Wook, and I took a trip to California. We cheered on Reggie in his first triathalon, visited some friends, and had some amazing food and wine. (Photos of the trip here)

During our stay in LA, I got to play a round of golf with my friend Brandon. He treated me to a round of golf at the beautiful Angeles National Golf Club. This was my first time playing a golf course outside of the New York/New Jersey area, and I was blown away. The Jack Nicklaus designed course was absolutely stunning with a large percentage of the indigenous wildlife and vegetation intact. There was cacti and desert shrubbery everywhere, and lots and lots of sand. We were even warned at the beginning of the round to not enter those areas if our balls happened to land there because of the snakes and other dangerous animals present.

The course is pretty long standing 7,141 yards from the tips. Besides the sandy natural habitat areas that sometimes played the dual role of hazards, the course didn’t have too many bunkers. And as for water, none of the 3 ponds came into effect, except on the 18th hole.
