Pebble Beach Pro-Am
Phil Mickelson looked sharp after perhaps one of his worst starts — 45th at the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic, 51st at the Buick Invitational, and missing the cut at the FBR Open. He won by five strokes Sunday, and also tied the course record previously set by Mark O’Meara, at 20 under par.
Although Phil Mickelson isn’t my favorite player, I admire his talent and his recent dedication to this season. He worked off 25 pounds to get into better playing shape, and he seems like a nice guy. When he tapped in his final birdie of the day and his kids ran to him, he picked them up and then proceeded to walk off the green holding their hands.
Phil Mickelson just moved up on my list.
